As you all know, the ladies of Victoire are quite the Beyonce fans. I am especially digging the music videos for her new album, I am Sasha Fierce. Both "single ladies", and "diva" feature rocking dance choreography by Jaquel Knight. This rising star is popularizing a style of dance called J-Setting. It is centered around an eight beat count and originated on the dance floors of the southern U.S black gay club scene. Just like Madonna with Voguing, Beyonce is rockin J-Setting! It's the next big thing. Check it out and next time you hit the dance floor be sure to throw in some of these sweet moves.

this is my new favourite thing! (along with paisely and sweater-capes.)
Actually, J-setting comes from Jackson State University's The Prancing J-Settes. In 1970, a former Majorette, Shirley Middleton, came up with the idea of abandoning their batons so that they can do more complex movement. Only ladies were "allowed" in the Dance Line until they brought in a guy because they were 1 member short. So J-Setting originally came from Shirley Middleton in Jackson, Mississippi. GO J-SETTES!!!!
