Probably the best proof that Katie and I's trip to NYC last week-end was the BEST EVER is that immediately upon returning home, Katie's body completely shut down and she's been home sicky since then, and I've developped a raspy/sexy/totally disgusting phlemy voice. This is our bodies on party times overdose. We ain't spring chickens anymore, so after a week-end like that, it's no surprise we have to pay the price.

But let's start at the beginnig. It started innocently enough, as most of our road trips do, with a stop at the Scone Witch for some sconewhiches for the road.

It was just Katie and I driving up together, and since we talk to each other um, like every 15 minutes of every day, we came prepared with books on tape by the barrel full in case conversation needed some stimulus. Let me re-phrase that. We weren't actually all that prepared since half-way through the day on Friday I called my mom at the library to see which books were on the shelves. That is how come we ended up driving with Bill O'Reilly and Sharon Osborne. Oh, and we may have learned a thing or two about the history of Yiddish.

The drive was hickup free, and before we knew it we were listening to our favourite radio station HOT 97! We were happy to realize over the week-end that the new Beyonce single Diva is exploding!

Not more than 15 minutes after we arrived, we met Clayton and Adam in the lobby of our hotel and headed out for the evening. It was sooo enjoyable to stay in somewhere nice for a change. I don't think we'll ever be able to go back to Greenpoint after this!

We're just so giddy about the fact that it's Fashion Week and we're off to the first of many parties with open bars!

Err, many hours later....This picture might not stay up more than 24 hours, but this is just one of many "action shots" I took of Katie struggling to take her boots off after a long night. I think this is the exact moment where she almost gave up and was about to sleep in those dang boots.

On Sunday, we went to the
Brooklyn Flea which was hands down one of the best flea markets Katie and I have ever gone to! Of course we were in absolute heaven. It was almost overwhelming how many amazing finds there were, I wanted to grab everything. It's hard to describe how I feel in places like this, but my heart beat races, my eyes are darting everywhere and I think my palms even get a little sweaty. It's just total ecstasy. I bought a beatifully framed vintage photograph and a cream lace blouse with a little collar (you'll see it later on in this trip!), Katie got an old wedding cake bride & groom, a book about botany for her man and an old medecine jar.

That evening we had dinner with Clayton, Adam and Louis and Jeff, co-owners of one of our most beloved NYC shops
Oak. Before settling in at the amazing sushi place they had picked, they sent us on a wild goose chase around Brooklyn. Mistaken metro stops, bar names, etc, etc made for a long trek but in the end it was all worth it - we had probably the best sushi ever and the company was wonderful. In the middle of all this disorienting madness, we took the time to take some pics at another cutie cute bar along the route that had its walls covered in all kinds of different floral wall-paper.

The next morning we went over to
Erica Weiner's studio to pick up some new goodies for y'all, and it was no surprise that the studio where such beautiful creations come to life would be equally echanting. I felt that same flea market excitement looking at all her giant mason jars filled with amazing vintage charms.
After some shopping around the Lower East Side, it was time to get ready for the reason for the season - complexgeometries A/W 09 launch party at
Santos Party House!!

Between all the positive affirmations on the wall and the rainbow projection, you might have already guessed that this club is co-owned by Andrew W.K. Needless to say, I was supremo psyched. (Just ask, and I will gladly tell you all about the Andrew W.K. show that changed my life. Actually, you probably don't even need to ask. I'd be talking about it right now if I wasn't writing this blog post.)

We met up with Erica from
Species by the Thousands and made a new friend. Already looking forward to our next trip so we can hang out with her lots more. And we brought lots of her amazing Ts and some jewelry back with us too.

We danced, we drank, we took more pictures.

Hip hip hooray (and PEACE!) to Clayton. Thanks a bunch for inviting us to tag along. This was a trip for the ages.
