Ain`t get no better than this.

I like snacks and I really like when things are not ordinarily sized. For example, those tiny fold able bicycles with the really small wheels, and giant erasers for big mistakes.
When these two interests combine they create the greatest website on the interweb!!!

Pimp That Snack is a site that showcases peoples attempts to create giant sized versions of snacks. (They give you step by step instructions so you can replicate the giant snacks!)

``Pimp That Snack is a custom, banging, A1 Tip Top, jamming club fare. It's a sandwich of fun on ecstasy bread wrapped up in a big bag like disco fudge. It doesn't get any better than this.``

Giant sized Easter egg

Colossal sized burger

Huge peanut butter cup

My all time favorite, the enormous sour patch kid!!!!

This could only happen on the Lord's day

On Wednesday we packed up some pretty clothes, a picnic and the fantastically-brilliant photographer Arden Wray and headed back to a slice of heaven out in Chelsea. Before you scroll down and see the pictures, walk over to your turntable and put on a Neil Young album or some Joni Mitchel. We also recommend having a slice of peach pie and a swig of whiskey out of a mason jar, but that is only if you think you can handle the whole experience!

You'll see the rest as we update the webstore!

We have new fall items coming in every day. Since last we updated you'll we received:
LnE, Juma, Tryd&True, Complex Geometries and Osei-Duro (the new line from Hastings & Main designer Maryann Mathias, you will freak for it!).

It is so fresh and inspirational to be around all the gems we will be wearing very soon with frost on our bikes and eating fresh apple pies (heck yes!!). But it does make me sad that the end of summer is upon us.

This video from La Fete makes me want to stretch summer out forever:

Look at your algebra book; it looks like it's never even been opened!

Babies, the time is upon us. Get your pencils and paper from Zeller's cause you are gonna need all your extra pennies for back to school shopping.

Don't get bummed out by the end of summer, just think about what your fall look is gonna be. Concentrating on this will make you almost forget that you did none of your summer prep work for fall classes.

You definitely need a blazer, it's the only way to look pulled together on days you wear the same dingy t-shirt you slept in to class.

Steel Magnolia, $59

A cozy top will help get your butt in gear for 8:30 class, and I bet no one will notice you've worn it 3 times this week 'cause you are looking so good.

Nokomis Marco Polo, $118

A wicked computer bag made of recycled leather and silk screened with a typewriter will allow you to continue with your luddite ways. Well sort of...

Nokomis, $120
New jeans, a total must! And you don't have any oatmeal colored one's so built in justification!

Nokomis Gloria, $138
Okay, you don"t need heels for back to school, but you will look hot as hell. And that is sound reasoning, you will learn about that from Socrates in philosophy class.

Damn girl! Doesn't Lianas' smile make you want to get your teeth whitened before classes start..

Buds In Rad Duds

Katie stopped by the store yesterday to drop off some old photos she picked up at Roy's Rubble on York Street. There are some great shots of gal pals that inspired us to do a modern day friendship photo shoot of our own.

Check it out! The lamp post in the old photo matches the one outside Victoire!

Amber and I are clowning around in pieces from the brand new fall collection. Valerie Dumaine 'Jean' dress $155, Lily and Jae 'Apron' skirt $140, Dace 'Abby' top $140.

Noko we love you!

Getting dressed is complicated, especially when you are a multi-faceted lady with a lot you want to get across through your clothing. You want the people around you to know that you are smart, interesting, a total sex-bomb and silly a lot of the time. Of course their is no better way to say it all then in a Nokomis dress. You could also show them your grade 12 report card, along side the notes your psychic gave you, but that just doesn't come across easy-breazy.

Nokomis Marchel dress, $210

Nokomis Maggie dress, $164

So all you versatile ladies, come on down because we have got alot more Nokomis for all of you.

Girlfriends

I think these photos by Richard Prince are the best. Among tons of other things, he has a knack for really capturing the feeling of a moment in time. These are from the series Girlfriends and you can see more here.

She's a mighty good leader

A word of wisdom: if Erin Featherston is walking down your street, stop what you are doing and follow her. Where ever she may be going! Actually, if anyone is wearing sparkly heels and a bow tie you better follow them. That is what's called adventure.

Except if they drive a white van, that is what's called stranger-danger.

Also, are rats a thing now? Is the world hip to these fine fury friends??

"I hate her crooked teeth. I hate the way she smacks her lips before she talks. I hate her 1960s haircut. I hate her knooby knees."

I went to see 500 days of Summer, and here is a shocker for you all (pause....NOT!): I totally loved it! It was totally a perfect romantic comedy and unbelievably on the money style wise. No real surprise since Zooey essentially dresses like herself throughout the movie. The soundtrack is also terrific. Summer is also a super cool gal who knows exactly how to vocalize what she wants in a relationship, which is rare in RomComs, the gals are usually wishy-washy.

The surprise for me was how totally swoon worthy Joseph Gordon-Levitt is throughout. His smile melts my heart. Hubba-Hubba X a million. I definitely suggest your man sees this movie, seeing a guy be a puddle of love will kick his cuteness up a notch, it will also be easier for you to convince him to wear a cardigan always, cause Joseph looks F-I-N-E in his. Again, he is one tall glass of water.

There are parts that are cringe worthy (but is that not what we want out of a RomCom? The sister should have been a teen instead of a 9 year old). But mostly it made me realize that I have not bought a new vintage dress all season and that is sinful. For all you in the same boat here are some great vintage stores to check out:

-Aunt Olive's, 209 Gilmour Street
- Young Janes, 203 Dalhousie St
-Orange, 145 York Street

The only thing that could have made it better is if Meryl Streep had been in it!

....I don't think I watch enough movies to give any a review. Shasha is taking Film Studies 101 this fall, she should have written this!

Black Magic $35

Sale Sale Sale Sale

I know sale season is difficult: the perfect dress is too big, the cheapest shoes are a wee bit too small etc. So to make this time of year a bit easier, here are some pieces we have by size. We did a profile here if you were a size 8-10ish and now for those of you who fall more into the 2-4 size range here are some of my favourites for you:

Hastings and Main cotton summer dress made my hand in Ghana. It's on super sale for $36 and is size S!!

Lustre high waist lightweight floral print denim skirt, made with looooove in Montreal and on sale for $92 and is size XS (25" waist).

And Velour cotton black and white stripe top with buttons for $77 in sizes XS and S.

And the coolest mini dress by MINKPINK which sold out super fast but then I miraculously found one hiding in the basement yesterday! It's a size XS and on sale for $79 bucks.
