Salvation Mountain

So I don't know if you know already, but if you don't, get ready to hear us talk about it nonstop for the next month and a bit, but Katie and I are going to L.A in March!! It's our first time, and we are SO EXCITED. This will probably be the longest we'll have been both gone from the shop in forever. Katie will be starting with her little family in Palm Springs, our friend MC and I are gonna meet some friends in San Francisco, then we'll meet here, at Salvation Mountain, and continue our journey togther to L.A!

I pinned this picture in our Pinterest account months ago, never dreaming that I would actually be able to go here one day! I'll be celebrating an undisclosed but significant birthday around this time, and I couldn't think of a better thing to be doing for my birthday! Now of course a destination of this magnitude requires an equally sunny & colourful wardrobe - and lucky for me we have lots of great Summer pieces on sale that would be so great to bring on my mountain voyage.

First is this flamingo tank by Juma. I actually bought this last season and it was absolutely one of my favourite purchases. Lucky for you guys we still have a few left and it's on sale now!

It's still cold though right now, and I am not as of yet IN California, so I'll be wearing it layered while still in Ottawa.

Another great layering piece is this tye-dyed crop by Genevieve Savard. (Speaking of layers, there's a pretty good new Very Mary-Kate about this very important fashion concept.) I feel like this top can work both ways I imagine my L.A wardrobe looking...first the hippy-dippy California love vibe, but also paired with my Ursa Minor leather leggings all of a sudden I'm channeling skeazy Sunset Strip L.A. Yes!!

Now if dress isn't the perfect tribute to Salvation Mountain I don't know what is!  I'm telling ya guys, I just know I'm gonna take to California life like a fish to water. I can't wait to wear neon colours. But also pastels. And also until then I'm not touching my hair, just gonna try to grow it real, real long. Long enough for the Mountain Man of Salvation Mountain to fall in love with me.
